Happy Pancake Day!!! ♥ ♥

Hi everyone! This is a little break on my "beauty" blogging. I'm a little late on this post because pancake day was on Tuesday haha.. I had a very busy week. BUT I wanted to share with you guys on my experiences during training. Last year, I worked for my industrial training for 3 months at a restaurant. I kept it a secret just so I am not stalk-able if you know what I mean..If you've forgotten, I go to Culinary Arts school~

I trained at a restaurant called Paddington House of Pancakes, they have branches at The Curve, 1 Utama and Mid Valley Megamall

It was a pretty hard decision for me to choose my own training place. Infact I am still deciding on where to apply for my next one. It was either hotel or restaurant but I am a restaurant person and don't intend to work as a chef at a hotel.

I am very into desserts, patisseries and cake boss! I have not always wanted to become a pastry chef. I wanted to become a makeup artist/aesthetician. But that is another story for another day haha! I decided to post a compilation of some of my favorite food at Paddington!
Some because I have way too many!

Enjoy the pictures! All of the desserts were made by yours truly~

Remember this? Colorful pancakes for the Valentine's Day photoshoot. I didn't swing by the restaurant for Valentines though because school has been busy for me :/

Strawberry and Marmalade Swedish Pancake - This was during a mydeal promotion. It was the most difficult time of my life doing a lot of these in the last week before the vouchers expire! Malaysians need to stop being so last-minute!

Banana and Peanut butter Swedish Pancake

Apple Caramel Swedish Pancake

Blintzes! This has raisins, bananas and coconut inside~ This is the best thing ever! The head cook there told me that it was in the old menu and then they brought it back up for set lunches! :D

The Banana & Coconut Swedish Pancake! Full of whip creams! I Struggled with broken whip cream cans a lot @_@

Apple Fritters! Sweet Pannekoek, some butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and nuts wrapped up inside. This is second next to banana fritters! Who doesn't love goreng pisang? In this case is Goreng Apples! hahah!

How a perfect pancake looks like, Cheat! Grill because the pan is for english pancakes ^_^

My first favorite!! Oreos Pancakes!

29th of September 2011 - my very first time doing "catering"work. It was for Female Magazine. Was held at 1 Utama. Lots of canapes and mini dollar pancakes!

I served the food that we made! It was very very busy! I like this poster a lot! All the older women who were there wore way too much makeup

25th of November, My bosses decided to do some charity work for this event. It was a 3-day Event also at 1 Utama. It was L'oreal's hairdressers againts AIDS campaign where they had a RM 15 per hair cut by professional hair stylists!

They were even dressed in Military-sh uniforms it was really fun! They reminded me of Ai Qing Mo Fa Shi - ( Magicians of Love) A taiwan drama I followed when I was in high school lol ( I was obsessed with Club 183 at one point )

Even Amber Chia was there! I served her food! lol!! She brought her baby Ashton and her maid a long too. First time seeing her in real life. I wanted a picture but she was so beautiful and I was in a dirty Chef's uniform so I decided not to :p

The Food we made!

Didn't take a lot of pictures, I was busy! See here for more

Their cupcakes

Festive Pancakes!!!

Halloween "Scary Face" Pancake

You've seen this before, Snowman Pancake!

The barista at work made this remember?? :O I need to stop by haha!

To sum it all up, To be honest, I work more on the Holland Side during my training, I did a lot more pastas and savory pancakes! And I have a lot of "popular orders" during work. But I'll post those up some other time haha!!

Me - first day of work photo and barely wore any makeup ( I didn't have bb cream then yet lol!)

I did not go to a 5 Star hotel like most of my friends did but so what, I am happy! I've always wanted to do so much desserts! And I've met wonderful people who worked there. Most of them were not as fortunate as I am. They come from Indonesia and Myanmar to work for money. Anyways, see my number 10 here if you want to. Explains how some people's perception on a "mere cook's uniform". It was awful but despite it all, I had a great 3 months experience of working!

My experience in a cook/intern is contradicting to my makeup on self but I don't care!

All Pictures were taken using my Nokia E5 if you're wondering.. I didn't have my Lumix GF3 and the dslr is hugee to take around. I took a lot more photos but I don't want to overload my post on too much food hahaha! I've been baking the whole month! Let me know if you guys are interested in reading some monthly baking/pastry class photos.

Props to you if you actually read the whole long post!
♥♥♥ I hope I wasn't rambling too much! Have a great weekend everyone!! ^_~

  9. Yummy!!! I love how the "Blintzes" looks the best!

I don't think your chef self is contradictory to your make-up self! I love both as well (though it's reverse for me, I cook cook for friends and family). :)

I'm actually not a huge fan of pancakes but I always think they look so nice and seem to be great brekkie food, if I ever eat them I load it up with syrup hahahaha so bad and you look amazing dear! Who cares if cooking contradicts make up?! You can look fabulous even while in the kitchen!
